Strawberries, Cherries & An Angel’s Kiss In Spring (Grenadine Quarantine)

Designed as a follow-up to the Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme mix from a few weeks ago, I wanted to create a soundscape with a bit of a darker tone. I had come up with a mix titled ‘In This Together, Alone’ but after listening to it a few times I noticed it was too depressing and needed some serious reworking. Strawberries, Cherries & An Angel’s Kiss In Spring is a mix of outtakes from Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme (Vol.4), Lost Cherry (Vol. 3) and a few of the songs I had intended for ‘In This Alone, Together’.

I was inspired by the music of Francis Lai, the film score for Love Story, 80’s synth chords and ethereal lullabies. I’ve been re-watching Twin Peaks with my mother recently so there’s definitely a bit of a Lynchian vibe in this as well, along with more 70’s soft rock, baroque pop and classical arrangements.
