Welcome to May! It was my birthday last week but this time of year also seems to be one of my least favourite periods. Autumn is just about to finish up and transition into winter, and this transitionary period always seems to put me in an off mood. I do love the cold weather but as our minds turn to more somber states, it’s hard sometimes to stay motivated and focused. I’ve spoken with a few of my friends lately and have heard similar things - it seems everyone is finding it hard to find the energy at the moment.

This morning I woke up at 3am for a drive into the country to see the meteorite shower from Halley’s Comet. It was so cold but catching up with my friend Olivia is always a pleasure, especially recently when I haven’t been able to see my friends anywhere near as often. We saw a few of the shooting stars but on the way back I saw what looked like a trail of small stars moving in a line. We parked on the side of the road and watched in awe.

The sky had actually illuminated more than before and there was a procession of small lights moving in a straight line. Semi freaked out at first (assuming they were aliens lol), we found out on the way home that it was actually Elon Musk’s starlink satellite train. It was really fascinating to watch and I’d love to see it again soon.

I’ve started taking more adaptogens to help increase and maintain focus which I’m looking forward to talking about more this month. I’ve also been focusing on the elements of my mind and body that relate to autumn, which has helped a lot during this period. The past few weeks I’ve written some of my favourite pieces for Welluvia yet. The interview with Maša about minimalism and veganism was a highlight for me, along with creating a really fun mix with her and Michael. They also create a really delicious exclusive vegan recipe for Welluvia that has been really popular!

Another thing I loved creating was the film guide, and I hope to do more things like this going forward. I teamed up with Mubi to create a special link for Welluvia readers that can access a 30 day trial for the curated film platform, whilst the general public only gets a limited 7 day trial. There is a Perfect Failures curated film list on Mubi in collaboration with Fondazione Prada that has been really interesting to follow. I watched one of the films on the list called Southland Tales when I was younger and loved it. More recently I watched the film Fedora that they curated on their list, and was so glad to have been introduced to it. Definitely looking forward to seeing what else gets added to this guide!

This month I’ve got some really exciting articles and content planned for Welluvia. We’ll see some more fascinating guest pieces along with a few exciting product launches that I’ve been working on for quite a while. I also wanted to get back into making more mixes as I haven’t in a little while, and I think everyone is enjoying a lot of music right now!

Have a great month!

With wellness,

Aleksandar
